The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is an international, voluntary standard for final products that sets the requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, processing and distribution process controls, social and environmental practices, and chemical regulations.
Health and Productivity Management Outstanding Organizations Program (Large Enterprise Category)
The Health and Productivity Management Outstanding Organizations program, jointly led by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Nippon Kenko Kaigi (Japan Health Council), recognizes large enterprises and SMEs for outstanding efforts in health and productivity management. Chori considers the health of its employees of as a matter of the utmost importance and thus offers dental checkups, help quitting smoking, and other health support through its in-house clinics in the Company’s Tokyo and Osaka head offices.
In recognition of these efforts, Chori was certified as an outstanding organization under the large enterprise category of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organizations Recognition Program for the sixth year in a row since 2019.
Sports Yell Company
The Sports Yell Company program was established by the Japan Sports Agency to recognize companies that actively promote sports activities to improve the health of their employees. Chori was recognized as a Sports Yell Company for the sixth consecutive year since 2019 for its efforts to promote health, including yoga classes during lunch breaks and the CHOI-Aruki walking activity.
SDGs Promotion Coordinator
In recognition of our BLUE CHAIN™ recycling schemes, our Hokuriku Branch was selected as an SDGs Promotion Coordinator by the Fukui Textile Association. Textile waste generated at yarn processing plants and by fabric manufacturers in the Hokuriku region is collected and repurposed as materials for public construction projects.

Recognized in the sustainability category of the 53rd SENKEN Newspaper Synthetic Fiber Awards
On March 13, 2023, Chori and KOMATSU MATERE Co., Ltd. were recognized in the sustainability category of the 53rd SENKEN Newspaper Synthetic Fiber Awards for their joint development and deployment of WS™, an environment-friendly quick-dyeing material.
Winner of the Corporate Award at the Sixth Japan Vegetarian Awards
Hosted by the Japan Vegetarian Society, a non-profit organization, the Japan Vegetarian Awards recognize people, organizations, and companies that raise awareness of vegetarianism as a way to promote good health and be kinder to the planet.
Chori received the Corporate Award for its efforts toward achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through food by collaborating with companies around the world and for its promotion of Greenwise, a vegan-friendly food that is made from non-GMO crops handled by the Life Science Department and which is a soy-based meat alternative with a chewy, meat-like fibrous texture.

Special award winner at the 49th Senken Gosen Awards
On March 11, 2019, Chori was a special award winner at the 49th Senken Gosen Awards, hosted by the Senken Shimbun. The Company received the award thanks to its efforts to promote Japanese synthetic fibers worldwide through the development and sale of synthetic fiber materials in collaboration with companies in the Hokuriku region, which it has done for 85 years since the Kanazawa Branch (now the Hokuriku Branch) was established in 1934.
Winner of the Special Jury Award at the 31st Senken Gosen Awards in the Marketing category
The Senken Trade Advertising Awards were established in 1983 to promote the development of trade advertising and improve quality within the field of trade advertising. Each year, all advertisements published in the Senken Shimbun are judged and evaluated in terms of their strategic approach to trade advertising and creativity in advertising expression. Chori received the Special Jury Award for its 2013 series of advertisements featuring the Company’s department heads.
